Hello fellow gardeners, I recently began gardening and I apologize for all my dumb questions haha but I am worried about my plants the leaves are yellowing at the base. I am growing in soil from seeds and my plants are 8 weeks old and between 12 and 16 inches tall. They are planted in 1 gallon pots in Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Mix. They are water roughly once every two days with 16-20 oz of tap water, I’m not sure what the pH of the water is but I am going to buy a test kit later. I’ve never been sure what I should use for plant food and how much so tips there would be nice right now I use Schultz 10-15-10 Plant Food Plus but have only used it a few times because I don’t know how often I should use it. I do not foliar feed my plants I was wondering if I should start doing it to some of my shorter plants to catch them up? I use a 400w HiD light with a MH bulb for Veg and I have a HPS bulb ready for flowering. The light is currently 6 inches from the tallest and 12 from the shortest. The grow area is 3’x8′ so it 24 sq ft. I have to get a thermometer and I was wondering how to test humidity? I am also going to buy a soil test kit later but I was wondering if there is an easy way to test it at home? There are little fruit flies buzzing around in there is there a safe way to get rid of them? Like I said before I am new to all this so tips are greatly appreciated.
