Ok, so I figured I’d start a journal for my first grow.
3 Nirvana Northern Lights autoflower feminized seeds.
Miracle Grow Organic 2/3, 1/3 perlite.
Water – Tap water, left to evaporate for over 2 days. 240-280ppms, pH around 6.8. Water once every 3 days more or less, wait til soil looks/feels dry.
– 3 seeds, all three sprouted.
– 2 were big seeds, 1 was small (important later)
After I spotted the tap roots I planted them into 2/3 Miracle Grow organic soil (all I could find) and 1/3 Perlite in 16 oz. party cups.
Left town for 3 days.
09/19/11: (Day 8 from seed)
Got back small seed had grown really long, spindly. So I replanted it deeper into soil. Placed all three under lights. 3 18W 6500K CFLs, and 1 23W 2700K CFL. At this point I felt it would be a waste to have them under more lights, since I wouldn’t be able to get them closer to the light.
The leaves on the plants from the two big seeds look ruffly, the ones on the plant from the small seed looks normal. Can this be a phenotype difference? They are getting the exact same watering, soil, light.
09/23/11: (12 days from seed)
Transplanted to big 12" pots. The roots had grown to the bottom of the red cups, not rootbound so figured they were still ok but didn’t want to risk stunting the growth. Moved the plants each under, 2 18W 6500K CFLs (6 total lights). I will move more lights (3 18W 6500K + 1 23W 2700K per plant), one they grow a lil more and can get leaves close to the lights.
PROBLEMS: (pics attached)
The plants that came from the big seeds look ruffly, could this be a deficiency? The small one looks normal and has received the same treatment, so could this maybe be a phenotype difference?
Also, ANY ADVICE/HELP MORE THAN WELCOME!!! Thank you
