Very young plant, first real leaves yellowed and spotting [pics]
24. October 2011
One of my seedlings/young plants is showing some issues and I’m really not sure what’s up.
Medium: Coco (canna pro) 70%, perlite 30% – nothing else
Strain: Ice Kush (80%ind/20%sat approx)
Age: Started germination 18days ago.
Lighting: single 125w 6500k CFL. Currently approx 25cm from tops of plants (has been closer – before moving the lights back the temperature, directly under the lights and at plant level was at least 35’c (95-100’f) (not the room temperature)).
Watering: Tap water ("very hard"), pH’d approx 5.8. Allowed top 1-4cm to dry before next watering.
Feeding: Fed once, 3 days ago, H&G Coco A&B 1/4th recommended strength (pH’d 5.8 approx).
Temps/Humidity: highs, with lights on, of about 25’c (78’f), lows, lights off, 19’c (68’f)
Once cotyledons turned yellow we gave her a first feed. The first real leaves had begun yellowing by this point already. Thinking the light may have been to close we’ve moved the light back twice.
At this stage, those first 2 real leaves are deteriorating noticeably each day. Newer growth continues to happen though, and it seems to look okay – although the second set of real leaves appear to be yellowing slightly at the ends (could just be paranoia…).
Our current best guess is a nute deficiency… Any help/advice/tips appreciated.
